Project SoftPrint: Kickoff-Meeting at the NMI
The aim of SoftPrint is to use 3D bioprinting to produce tissue that is as similar as possible to human fatty tissue and in which blood vessels enable the supply of nutrients. Such tissue is needed as a tissue replacement, for example after a tumor has been removed. Until now, blood circulation in natural transplants and implants has been a major problem. The tissue to be developed in the project is intended to provide a reliable replacement for successful treatment in the future.
In addition to initial discussions about the procedure, a tour of the NMI laboratories was also on the agenda.
