Hamamatsu user meeting at the NMI
The NMI aims to be an interface between research and companies. Events such as the European Drug Discovery Workshop (July 3 and 4) are a particularly good fit. At the invitation of device manufacturer Hamamatsu, scientists and companies came together at the NMI to discuss opportunities and needs and make valuable new contacts. Two female scientists, Jasmin Kormann and Dr. Ayla Aksoy Aksel, also gave presentations on their work.
The special opportunity for the NMI: during guided tours of the laboratories, the Electrophysiology working group, which uses Hamamatsu equipment at the institute most often, had the chance to show how it is used, for example for assays. At the same time, the connection to Hamamatsu, for which the NMI is already a key customer, became even closer.
The meeting focused on functional screening, for example calcium imaging, and light sheet morphology - the NMI is active in both fields, and Dr. Udo Kraushaar and Dr. Timm Danker from the Electrophysiology Department use Hamamatsu devices for both.
