Evaluation of innBW and NMI

The non-university research institutes belonging to the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Alliance (innBW) are evaluated at regular intervals on behalf of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism. The report on the current evaluation, carried out by Prognos, has now been published.

Important role in strengthening economic power

The evaluators give a positive assessment of the institutes and innBW. Through their support and cooperation with companies in the region, they make a significant contribution to Baden-Württemberg's economic strength. According to the report, the institutes occupy leading positions, particularly in application-oriented research, and enable the transfer of knowledge and technology to industry.

The evaluation examined topics such as the situation of the markets and industrial orders, scientific cooperation, and other relevant topics and key figures.

Valuable outside perspective

Based on this information and the findings of an inspection of the NMI—consisting of discussions with the institute's management and researchers, as well as a tour of the laboratories providing insights into the work at the NMI—the four evaluators developed recommendations for action for the institute.

This is a valuable outside perspective. The resulting assessments and suggestions will now be incorporated into decisions at the NMI over the coming years.
