Collagen foam based fully resorbable bone graft substitute for jaw bone augmentation.

Description

The aim of the project is to develop a volume-stable, elastic scaffold based on collagen foam for dental use in vertical augmentation of the jawbone. The collagen will be used as a concentrated suspension, with the starting material being prepared from porcine collagen, thus ensuring good availability and cost-effectiveness. An application solution to be developed with spray can and foaming nozzle as well as mechanical-physical and chemical stabilization of the sterile foam structure (xenogenic granules, cross-linker) will ensure easy applicability and biocompatibility as well as degradation (resorption) in line with requirements.

Within the scope of the project, the necessary material and process technology aspects will be developed, the application device will be designed and prototypically implemented, and the overall system will be clinically validated.
