Fiber4Ink: Project meeting at the NMI
How is Fiber4Ink progressing? The project partners meet every six months to exchange ideas, and today they were in beautiful Reutlingen. Representatives from TU Darmstadt and the companies Black Drop Biodrucker, IoLiTec Liquids Technologies, HOT Screen and GfN Herstellung von Naturxtrakten as well as from the project management organization VDI were at the NMI and presented the current status of their part of the project and clarified organizational issues such as material handovers and congress visits. Finally, there was a tour of the NMI with a look at the equipment used for the project.
The aim of Fiber4Ink is to develop a novel, versatile material platform that is as suitable as possible for 3D bioprinting and thus ultimately for tissue engineering. As both the printing and cross-linking techniques used in 3D bioprinting are diverse, the search for a suitable material platform is a correspondingly great challenge. The different expertise of the various project partners is therefore an important factor for the success of Fiber4Ink.
