Cortically controlled, integrated assistance system for adaptive stimulation to restore hand gripping function

Description

Cortically controlled, integrated assistance system for adaptive stimulation to restore hand gripping function

The subject of the project is the research and utilization of interfaces between people with physical disabilities and a technical assistance system that helps those affected to regain the greatest possible independence after brain injuries and strokes and supports their participation in private and professional life. The focus is on the development of an integrated assistance system with intracranial long-term EEG measurement to restore the gripping function of the hand using cortical-controlled electrical stimulation of the forearm and hand muscles with an integrated feedback loop using muscle signals and motion sensors.
