PI Innovation Award for groundbreaking cancer research
The newly introduced PI Innovation Award for outstanding research at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen was presented to Dr. Teresa Wagner, project leader of immunAdvice at the NMI. The prize was awarded for her groundbreaking work on new diagnostics for the early detection of therapy resistance in cancer. The award, presented by Dr. Steffen Schreiber, Director Global Innovation & Scouting, recognizes outstanding scientific research in the form of doctoral theses that drive innovative solutions and products - as is the case at PI Innovation.
Dr. Wagner's dissertation entitled "Two Birds with One Stone: Theranostic Applications of Nanobodies" deals with the production, characterization and use of nanobodies as "theranostic" tools for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the context of precision medicine. Her work has been recognized for its high medical relevance and impact on medical practice.
