Group Leader Center for Nanoanalytics
The main focus of Tarek Lutz's research work is in the field of nanodevice fabrication and nanoanalytics of various materials. Extensive industrial experience was gained mainly as a research engineer in the Central Research Department at Infineon Technologies AG. Corresponding patents prove innovative research and development results. For example, the production of individual transistors with a gate length of only a few nanometers was made possible as the basis for device simulation. In the context of the appointment of Prof. Georg Duesberg to Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, the industrial research and development work could be deepened and extended as Senior Marie Curie Fellow in the university environment of Trinity College Dublin. After setting up and commissioning analytical laboratories and clean rooms, the research work included the characterization and fabrication processes of nanodevices made of nanowire, nanotubes and graphene. With the move to the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) at the University of Tübingen, the research work was continued and focused primarily on nanoanalytics. Here, the newly established Nanoanalytics Center makes a crucial contribution. Since 2018, Tarek Lutz has been heading the Nanoanalytics Center in his function as Research Group Leader Nanoanalytics.
