European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH Südwest)

The European Digital Innovation Hub Südwest (EDIH Südwest) acts as a central contact point in the southwestern region of Baden-Württemberg. Its main objective is to support companies, the public sector and founders in responding flexibly to digital challenges and increasing their competitiveness.

Description

Many companies and institutions face the challenge of generating competitive advantages by digitizing their products and services. To facilitate this process, the European Union has established regional innovation centers for digitization that are simultaneously linked in a European network. These centers, known as "European Digital Innovation Hubs" (EDIHs), pool regional resources and expertise and provide direct support for companies. In the EDIH Southwest, 24 players work together under the coordination of Hahn-Schickard in Baden-Württemberg. These players see themselves as service providers for digitization and have many years of experience and expertise in the areas of consulting, training and technology transfer.
The services offered to regional industry, the public sector and founders include consulting sessions, workshops, training courses, feasibility studies, access to laboratories and test environments, development projects for functional samples ("proof of principle"), support in finding funding opportunities and qualified personnel, and monitoring of markets and trends.
