After completing her doctorate at the University of Stuttgart in 1993, she joined the NMI in 2022 and has since been head of the Biomedicine & Material Sciences Group. Her research interests include the use of nanostructured gold surfaces for Raman spectroscopy, polymeric nanoparticles with functional surfaces as release systems or for coating biosensors, and functional ECM equipped with click groups that can be directly addressed in selective and biocompatible chemical reactions.
