As our population ages, neurodegenerative diseases are becoming increasingly common. However, our knowledge of the development of such diseases, which helps us to identify new targets for therapy, is limited. This is partly due to the lack of suitable assays that enable us to investigate direct interactions between components that are critical for the development of the disease. ASSAY-MIND aims to solve this problem by developing a co-culture assay to study the interactions between antibodies and NK and microglia cells. Our flexible approach allows disease-specific markers (e.g., antigens) and samples (serum, cerebrospinal fluid, cells) to be incorporated into a disease-specific assay. The developed test is suitable for clinical trials, drug development, and safety testing.
