Hista-Protect - Semi-quantitative rapid test to prevent histamine-induced food intolerance
About 1-2% of the Central European population suffers from histamine intolerance. This group of people reacts to histamine-contaminated foods with allergy-like symptoms, such as cardiovascular complaints, edema, migraine, gastrointestinal complaints and asthma. The aim of the project is to develop a test strip for on-site testing for histamine content for personal use. The test should enable people with histamine intolerance to test food and beverages for critical histamine content at the table immediately before eating.
