nanodiag BW: Launch of the Second Funding Phase

nanodiag BW is launching its second phase, and the NMI is on board again! At the kickoff event for the second funding phase of the Future Cluster, Michael Mierzejewski and Peter Jones presented the NMI’s contribution. On posters, they described their work on the scalable microfluidic integration of solid-state nanopore sensors and on the automated milling of nanopores using a focused helium ion beam. The nanodiag team at the NMI also includes Teresa Tang, Thoralf Herrmann, and Jannik Meyer.

The goal of the nanodiag BW Future Cluster is to use nanopores (channels with molecular dimensions) as biosensors. This should make it possible to analyze epigenetic factors associated with diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes.
