On Monday 27th of September, we welcomed the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant, Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, and a 10-member delegation at the NMI. After the presentation of our institute by Prof. Dr. Katja Schenke-Layland, four current research priorities were adressed. In addition to SARS-CoV2 research, the innovative organ-on-chip systems, microelectrode assays and the MDR & IVDR centre of excellence were presented and discussed. Mr van Gruijthuijsen and Ms Schenke-Layland agreed that the exchange between delegates and researchers from the NMI not only strengthens the cooperation between the southern region of the Netherlands and Baden-Württemberg, but also offers great potential. The research interests of the two regions overlap in particular in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology and biomaterials.
We look forward to future collaborations!
