Cortical guided, integrated assistance system for adaptive stimulation for restoring the gripping function of the hand
The topic of the project is the research and utilization of interfaces between people with physical limitations and a technical assistance system that helps those affected after brain injuries and strokes to regain the greatest possible independence and to support their participation in private and professional life. The focus is on the development of an integrated assistance system with intracranial long-term EEG measurement to restore the gripping function of the hand by means of cortically controlled electrical stimulation of the forearm and hand muscles with an integrated feedback loop via muscle signals and movement sensors.
