Dr. Frank Weise

Areas of activity

We focus on the analysis of cellular responses to gene expression in order to validate target genes for the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, we aim at developing improved cell culture models (co-culture, inflammatory response to exposure to hazardous substances), which, due to their more physiological nature, allow higher predictivity.

Stages of career

since 2009 Group leader of Target Expressions Systems

2002 - 2009 Head of laboratory in the Dept. of Molecular Biology

1998 - 2002 Post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Biology, Tübingen

1997 Doctoral degree at the Free University of Berlin (bacteriophage DNA replication)

1994 - 1996 Doctoral fellow at the National Centre of Biotechnology, Madrid, Spain

1987 - 1993 Student of biochemistry at the Free University of Berlin
